Pursuant to Alabama Act No. 2001-956, Auburn University seeks proposals from qualified professionals licensed in the State of Alabama to consult with the University in the: development of facility program requirements in addition to, the provision of basic architectural and engineering services for the “Auburn University Band Hall”. Auburn University Project Number 09-183. Qualification: Applicants will be selected on the basis of professional qualifications and successful experience with similar full service engagements. Applicant firms must clearly demonstrate a considerable body of successful experience with similar or closely-related facility types. Skill and experience in analyzing the needs of a University Marching Band, related technical systems requirements, related unique components and equipment, documenting facility requirements, designing space and systems to meet the needs of the today as well as flexible provisions to meet evolving needs. Applicants must demonstrate successful experience in delivering fully integrated facilities in a functional, economical and effective manner. Applicants must provide documented success in construction cost management, thorough, accurate and timely services and document production. Applicants and/or consultants to the primary design firm must demonstrate successful experience in music rehearsal, practice, performance, and related support spaces. Project Description: Services from the design team will include: 1. Review and documentation of Facilities Requirements / Program. 2. Review and design for established site. 3. Full design services (A through E) as defined in the Alabama Building Commission Manual. 4. Design to achieve LEED Silver or higher. 5. Analysis of phasing options.
Total final construction cost is expected to be in the range of $3.0 to $5.2 Million. The project will be built in two or more phases. The facility will include between 20,000 and 28,000 gross square feet. The facility will be located on the Campus of Auburn University, Adjacent to the New Band Practice Field.
