ADVERTISEMENT FOR A/E REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Pursuant to Alabama Act No. 2001-956, Auburn University seeks proposals from qualified professionals licensed in the State of Alabama to consult with the University in the:  development of facility program requirements in addition to, the provision of basic architectural and engineering services for the “Auburn University AUESPP Support Facility”, Auburn University Project Number 09-145.  

Qualification: Applicants will be selected on the basis of professional qualifications and successful experience with similar full service engagements.  Applicant firms must clearly demonstrate a considerable body of successful experience with similar or closely-related facility types.  Skill and experience in analyzing technical systems requirements, related unique and special components and equipment, documenting facility requirements, designing space and systems to meet the needs of the first occupants as well as flexible provisions to meet evolving needs. Applicants must demonstrate successful experience in delivering fully integrated typical and unique systems in a functional, economical and effective manner. Applicants must provide documented success in construction cost management, thorough, accurate and timely services and document production.  Applicants and/or consultants to the primary design firm must demonstrate successful experience in biological research laboratories and support facilities.    

Project Description:

Services from the design team will include:

1.      Review and documentation of Facilities Requirements / Program.

2.      Review and design for established site.

3.      Full design services (A through E) as defined in the Alabama Building Commission Manual.                                                      

4.             4.  University Research Lab grade construction    

             5.  Single story facility        

Construction cost is expected to be in the range of $3.9 to $5.9 Million.

The facility will include between 16,000 and 18,000 gross square feet.

The facility will be located on property located at the North Auburn Campus.
